Hey friends! Happy Wednesday! How much are you loving this Spring weather?! Some days I feel like we are getting right into Summer…which is typically what happens in SC. I am not complaining though, as much as I love everything about Fall and Winter, I find that getting my child dressed and ready to go is SO much easier during the warmer months…am I the only one?? I honestly just love having 4 seasons…as short (SPRING) as some may be!
For those of you who know me personally, you know how much I RAVE about IKEA. They have everything you could need for your house, including furniture, decor, bedding, and even kitchens (which I have big plans to do an IKEA kitchen one day…), all for great prices. A lot of people write off IKEA because you have to put their furniture together, which can be time consuming, BUT I promise it is worth it…even though in the moment, you may wonder if your marriage will actually survive this task…
All that to say, I’d love to share some of our favorite purchases from IKEA. I mentioned in a previous post that when we bought this house a couple of years ago, we kept our rental truck an extra day, JUST so we could drive it to IKEA…I know, BRILLIANT idea. I am going to link everything as best I can, so you can see the price points for each item. Everything we have bought has been great quality.
Here we go!
HEMNES Bedroom Furniture Line
IKEA has a TON of different options for bedroom furniture, and when we first moved in to this house, we knew we needed bedroom furniture (it was time to let go of Jordan’s high school dressers…). We bought the 8-drawer dresser and the 6-drawer dresser. We got the white stain color…I LOVE these dressers. There is so much storage and the drawers are really deep. The white stain has that cottage look and is just really pretty. We also found the shoe storage dresser on FB Marketplace for $10, in basically new condition…such a great find. I am also planning to switch out the hardware on these dressers for something more fun.
EKTORP Living Room Furniture Line
One of my favorite things we have gotten from IKEA is our EKTORP sectional sofa. The size is perfect…not too big, but plenty of space for several people. The best thing about it is the entire couch is slipcovered…even the cushions each have their own slipcover, so if you spill something on the couch, you can pull off the cover for that cushion…no need to wash the whole thing! We have had this couch for 2 years and it still looks new. We bought the Nordvalla Dark Gray…it literally doesn’t show ANYTHING, and we have a dog and a 10 month old. Since it is slipcovered, if you decide you want a different color, you can just order a new cover from IKEA…for about $150, you basically get a new couch! We also bought the ottoman to match.
IKEA has a lot of different duvet cover options, as well as down alternative comforters to go inside the duvet covers. We bought this down comforter in the king size…its a GREAT weight (we don’t like super heavy comforters). They have 3 different weights for their comforters, so you can pick the one that works best for you! And they are super inexpensive.
We also bought this duvet cover. We have another down comforter inside of it at the end of our bed, so during the colder months we have an extra blanket if needed. I am really loving this pattern and this simple white set as well!
Assorted Home Decor
IKEA has an entire section of their store devoted to home decor called the Marketplace. They carry everything, such as lamps, rugs, linens, vases, dishes and other kitchen items…you name it, they’ve got it! We bought a few things last time we were there, including these cute green tin vases…
Here are some other things I am loving from the Marketplace:
They have such a wide variety of options that fit any decor style…I love finding places like that!
And lastly, another favorite of mine are the IKEA KITCHENS. No, I have not personally had the opportunity to do one, but from what I have read (and I have done a lot of research on them, as we have been talking about remodeling our kitchen…), they are really great, inexpensive options when it comes to remodeling a kitchen. Here are some pictures of IKEA kitchens:
Y’all. Tell me those aren’t DREAMY. If I do end up doing an IKEA kitchen one day, I plan to tell you ALL the details…good and bad. I recommend at least doing some research on them if you are in the market for a new kitchen! They have an online kitchen designer tool where you can enter the measurements of your space, design your kitchen, and it will give you a cost estimate sheet so you can see about what the bill would be. I will warn you though…it is HIGHLY addictive and will cause you to get super behind on things you need to get done…at least that is what a friend told me…
So there’s my IKEA list of favorites! If you haven’t checked out an IKEA recently, I recommend taking a day to head out to one. You won’t be disappointed!
Until next time!
